About my beading process...
In my beading process I use semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls, Swarovski © Crystals and Crystal Pearls, Czech glass, sterling silver, Bali silver, brass, copper and other found objects. I make all my necklaces with Soft Flex® beading wire. Soft Flex® Wire is a lead-free beading wire, known for it's strength and durability. Soft Flex® is constructed of woven stainless steel wires and is 100% recyclable. The nylon coating used in the wire is derived from renewable resources and can be recycled.
Xses Jewelry
Xses jewelry is wearable art, they are pieces that can be worn anywhere by anyone. You can dress up a cute blouse and jeans, or add dazzle to the little black dress. It can be worn to the office, for any special event, a date or just for a ladies night out! Xses jewelry makes a fine gift for anyone. The Xses Signature Collection
Made using pendants created with old game pieces like dominoes, bend-dominoes and backgammon pieces, the Xses Signature collection is a process I created over 15 years ago.
The pieces first have holes drilled into them for beading, then the surface is prepped for the medium. Some of the pieces have been painted, others stamped and painted with alcohol based permanent inks, or a found image from recycled objects is attached (i.e. calendars, books, magazines).
The last step in making the pendant; the complicated part of the process, is applying the acrylic resin. The 2 part acrylic epoxy resin is mixed by hand, and then carefully drizzled onto the surface of the piece taking care to not over work the piece and/or create air bubbles. The acryllic resin is a process that took some time to learn and test but is worth it because the end result is crystal clear glass like finish and hard as a rock making these beautiful creations nearly eternal. Unlike "glazes" and polyurethane finishes that will yellow or grey, flake, peel, and deteriorate over time, acrylic epoxy resin is the only permanent, non-yellowing sealant available. After the resin has set (about 3 days) they can finally be used for the most fun part of the process- beading!
